As a 90's child, I consider myself fortunate to have dozens of incredible cartoons that were mature and complex. One that resonates with me today is Roughnecks: Starship Troopers . On the surface, it seems like a clear-cut war to defend humanity from the invasion by "dumb" alien bugs. Yet, as the story goes on, we discover that these enemy bugs are highly intelligent, sophisticated, and feel fear just like humans. Behind their seemingly insatiable thirst for blood and brains, there was self-defence in their list of reasons for advancing the war. However, whether the Bugs in Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles were innocent is a complex question with no easy answer. Finding out that the actors who played Ulrich and Yumi (Code Lyoko) eventually ended up together and had a baby gives me some closure to the beloved series.

1. Outlander I adore the time travel romance plot, the tension between the old Scottish past and the modern day, and the chemistry between the two lead stars. Unfortunately, it does have its share of nudity and gore, which I wish could have been omitted. 2. Young Justice If you love DC superheroes, you will love this adaptation. Impressively detailed art and animations that deals with unexpectedly mature themes (e.g. politics, world conflicts, corruption) in each episode. The stakes seem real and each character's destiny is uncertain. 3. Good Doctor Open up your eyes to another medical drama and see through a different perspective. 4. Young Sheldon A wholesome family spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. 5. Marvel's Agents of Shield My, my, what a blast. A solid cast of heroes that you will love and hate. The plot really gets confusing but thrilling from Seasons 4 onwards. It's a jumble of inhumans, mutants, space and time travel. 6. The Flash The long-drawn out story bet...

You see Marvin's stupid new flagpole in his yard? That's you. Steady pole in the ground. Everyone else around you is like the flag, changing direction as the wind shifts. But not you, you're keeping everything in place. But the pole gets no attention. We salute the flag, but not the pole. - Jessica This is one of those rare heartwarming moments where Jessica encourages Louis. It's a beautiful metaphor reminding us to appreciate the unsung heroes who have supported us in the background.

<< No spoilers >> Although I have neither heard about the original series nor its subsequent remakes, this Japanese version has been very realistic and convincing. The lead characters delivered authentic performances and their interactions have been a blast to watch. There were several episodes which were extremely frustrating to me, partly because some circumstances seemed very contrived to create ongoing tension between the characters, and partly because of obvious relationship red flags. Nonetheless, it can be said that that certainly reflects how people tend to overlook the red flags whenever their course of action results in their instant, though temporary, gratification. In any case, I was pleased with the ending and definitely enjoyed this series. I might consider watching the other versions for a better comparison.

I'm loving the soundtrack that played at the end of Season 7, Episode 2 - '99' by Elliot Moss. Elliot Moss - 99 (Official Music Video) There is just something about Sherlock, Joan and Marcus' friendship/kinship that is so sublime. It's the same vibe I get from the SPN cast. It's the mutual trust and respect, the shared understanding that you would sacrifice your own good for the benefit of another, that you would have each other's backs no matter what.

Every year, when there is a new release of the latest season of PR, I would try to dip my toes back into the series to get in touch with my roots. This year is no different. While I still have mixed feelings about PR changing hands of parent companies every time, I hope that each season brings something positive and memorable to the series. After watching Beast Morphers episode 1, I thought that the plot borrowed elements from RPM (computer viruses vs a government agency), In Space (frozen rangers), and Ninja Storm & SPD (3 v 2 dynamic), some of my favourite series, which worries me that the producers might be setting up really high expectations for old-time fans. I hope that the writers put a different spin on those plots and keep it fresh for the younger fans without dumbing down complex life issues. Anyway, I still look back fondly on PR and am filled with gratitude that the series challenged my past assumptions of (inner and outer) beauty and continued to empower ...

<< Warning: This show is for ages 18+ >> I recently got on board the Grimm train and have been thoroughly absorbed into the world of wesen tales. When 'The End' appeared when it was over, along with its equivalent in other languages, I was cheering on the inside. I loved how it delved into stories from the East in addition to the West as well as its rather balanced casting. About the characters,  I like most of the members of Team Grimm, my favourite being Munroe and Rosalee, as well as Hank, Wu and Bud. They have been wonderful sidekicks, though I was annoyed that Wu was initiated rather late in the series. He could have picked up more knowledge and been more helpful to the team had he known about wesen, not that he was any less useful without wesen knowledge. Well, what's done is done. As for Trubel, I didn't really like her at first, but she's been growing on me. I am glad that Nick wasn't always painted as the infallible her...

My attempt at replicating a Goines' sketch using Autodesk Sketchbook. I really have no idea how to draw the army of 12 on the outer ring so I decided to leave it out. << Warning: This show is for ages 18+ >> *No spoilers* Seasons 1 - 3 have been a blast of an arc so far. Both protagonists and antagonists have been well-developed. I am simply impressed by its execution of the time travel plot. It's also what drove me to read up on the bootstrap theory. Mind-boggling stuff.  I gotta hand it to the entire cast and crew. On another note, Jennifer Goines is the one character you would have to be crazy to forget. She is such an insanely unpredictable, eccentric and endearing character. And the season 3 finale closes the story arc with perfection, leaving us wondering if all the sacrifices made to come this far were worth it or in vain. I'm looking forward to completing the last and final season. I really hope the team pulls out all the stops to give it a good send-of...

Best. Season. Ever. My mind was simply blown away by AoS S4. The plot arc and villains were brilliant executed. The character development for FitzSimmons especially was amazing. There were plenty of callbacks and deja vu moments. It was spectacular. Daisy was without a doubt tough as nails and the anchor for the team. Although my plod through seasons 1-3 was slow, I'm glad I stayed on for the ride, because the CGI this season is MCU-worthy and all the plot build-up is really paying off this season.

So I've caught up on the latest eps up to season 5 and I'm left with so many questions. *Spoiler alert for seasons 1 - 5* Some thoughts and questions I'm left with: Is Lotor really good now? Or does he have some sort of hidden agenda to make use of the lions? So Lotura ship is sailing huh? *shivers* When is Hunk going to get decent character development? He doesn't have to change sides to get CD, but maybe an upgrade in engineering expertise, some lesson learnt or something about his family? Lance & Pidge, you're doing great! It would be nice to see an episode on how Matt and Dad spent their missing years and perhaps how significantly it contributed to the war efforts. Lance is probably going to go the Sokka route. Pidge seems to have a Toph route ahead (tough route, get it? XD). Emo Keith looks set up to discover more about Mum. Who is his most-likely-human Dad? Why hasn't Mum tried contacting him or informing him through his caregiv...

Timeless is back for Season 2! I was so excited when I saw it pop up on my TVTime dashboard (Sidenote: Join TV Time using this referral link and get a month of VIF free! https://tvtime.com/r/l9lz ). All this while, I had thought it had been cancelled and had one less thing to look forward to this year. Well, am I glad that I was wrong. Secondly, although I'm 2 years late to the Voltron: Legendary Defender series, I finally stopped procrastinating on getting around to it. I'm 5 episodes in, and it has been a blast so far. The characters and their corresponding colours are slightly different from what I remember of the series I grew up with, Voltron: Defender of the Universe (I can only recall watching old reruns of the season finale) and Voltron: Third Dimension. The most obvious difference is that Shiro wasn't in it but I do remember Allura being the only female pilot, which was cool. That was probably the main reason I kept watching it. << Warning: This show is for ages 21+ >> This show has been running for so long, fatigue often sets in whenever I binge-watch this series, yet I can't stop watching it out of kinship to the beloved characters. Dean and Sam's brotherly love towards each other is admirable, though the desperate measures they take to save each other are rather questionable at times. They love yet hate each other, flaws and all. These boys have been through hell and back for each other and have suffered unimaginable consequences. Such is life - we live, make mistakes and live with the consequences of our actions. All those emotional love-hate struggles are so relatable. Castiel is such a delightful addition to the team. I can't imagine SPN without him. Even Crowley. Can you imagine that? I hated him at first.
