Outer Space Stuff

Image
meatandsarcasm : rubywhiterabbit : My little brother got into outer space and stuff so my step-mom bought him a place mat with all the planets on it. When I first saw it, I was upset, because it was newer and so Pluto wasn’t labeled. I was about to say something when I noticed something…  Pluto is there.  The artist remembered Pluto.  Guys…  The artist drew Pluto crying.

Ticket to Salvation?

[This is a repost from my wordpress in response to a staunch atheist to his argument that Christians can sin all they want, after all, they are saved as long as they repent of their sins and believe in Jesus before they die. A video was embedded as a reference.] eXtreme eVolution said: March 3, 2012 at 3:01 pm It is true that we are saved through faith, not by works, lest anyone should boast. However, God sees your innermost thoughts. If these murderers, maniacs, etc. were truly repentant, they would turn from their sins rather than continue in sin. Didn’t Jesus tell the lady who repented to “sin no more”? If you were truly saved, your fruits should show it. For what lies in your heart can be seen through your words and actions. Galatians 5 Freedom in Christ 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. benditlikekorra : korrawr : skoochythevagabond : I want to share something that’s kinda bothering me about Legend of Korra.  It’s not a bad thing really, and it’s not an example of bad writing or bad storytelling (actually it’s an example of very good storytelling). It’s just something that’s been bothering me and I don’t think people have really looked at it enough.

14 Ways to Save Money on Groceries

Image
meatandsarcasm : 14 Ways to Save Money on Groceries 1.  Line the bottom of your refrigerator’s crisper drawer with paper towels. They’ll absorb the excess moisture that causes vegetables to rot.  2.  To keep herbs tasting fresh for up to a month, store whole bunches, washed and sealed in plastic bags, in the freezer. When you need them, they’ll be easier to chop, and they’ll defrost the minute they hit a hot pan.  3.  A bay leaf slipped into a container of flour, pasta, or rice will help repel bugs. 4.  Stop cheese from drying out by spreading butter or margarine on the cut sides to seal in moisture. This is most effective with hard cheeses sealed in wax.  5.  When radishes, celery, or carrots have lost their crunch, simply pop them in a bowl of iced water along with a slice of raw potato and watch the limp vegetables freshen up right before your eyes. 6.  Avoid separating bananas until you plan to eat them – they spoil less quickly i...

Killer Eagle

surfdog2000: archiemcphee: From the Department of Awesome... : surfdog2000 : archiemcphee : From the Department of Awesome Once-In-A-Lifetime Photo Ops come these shots of a mighty Golden Eagle wielding a knife. Yep, that’s pretty freaking awesome. “A forgetful photographer had the shock of his life when this soaring golden eagle made off with his knife. Dutch snapper  Han Bouwmeester  had been using the utensil, in Västerbotten, Sweden, to carve up chunks of meat in a bid to attract the birds of prey. But, busy with the task in hand, the wildlife aficionado clumsily dropped it in the snow. He said: ‘Once it flew away in the sight of my camera I saw something red in his claws and made some shots of it. On the display from my camera I saw immediately that it was the knife we used to cut the meat. We surely left it in the snow.’ ‘At such a moment we were firstly enraged with ourselves because this was a fault.  But he soon dropped the kni...
