A Deja Vu Heart

Image
And yet another day comes to an end. *Sigh* The holidays really pass by like Nightcrawler's *bamf*. Lately, I've been getting plenty of deja vu moments that it's beginning to creep me out. I get the feeling that I've been through certain moments before but I can't seem to recall when. I'm hoping to get some answers soon. Anyway, on to the shows. Danny Phantom (Originally posted on Dec 17, 2008, 1:18am) When Danny Phantom ended its run, I was in denial. Well, the finale was expected but still satisfactory. Here's a shoutout to Danny/Sam supporters: cheers! Anyway, what I like about this show is that it's cheesy hilarious but plain laidback fun. The characters either make witty, sarcastic or punny comments. Danny is a typical kid-turned-hero, but Sam & Tucker make hilariously awesome sidekicks. Speaking of hilarious, Danny's dad reminds me of Homer (The Simpsons) or Peter Griffin (Family Guy). Good times, good times. T e e n T i t a n s (...

After The Power

Image
It has been a great honour to receive e-mails over the years from some of the PR cast. They are really sweet people for taking the time to reply to fan e-mails. After watching some Power Morphicon video clips on YouTube, I have gained a newfound respect for actors and actresses, especially for the cast of Power Rangers. I must say, it is not easy to make it big as an actor, so most people would just accept any gigs they are offered. People often think that actors that star in Power Rangers are just desperate for a job. Perhaps, but anyone would do the same if they had no other choice. Acting on PR involves huge sacrifices because firstly, they have to undergo a lot of training for fight scenes (which in PR, is plenty). Their work hours are long and it takes a toll on their physical strength. However, I am glad that Power Rangers is able to open up some doors for the actors to other opportunities. Some have ventured into the music industry or continued their acting careers. Others t...

Batman

There were numerous Batman movies that were made over the past decades. Actors such as Michael Keaton (Batman & Batman Returns), Val Kilmer (Batman Forever), George Clooney (Batman & Robin) & most recently, Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) got to put on the suit and play the iconic hero.

Oban, Lyoko & Galactik

Image
Oban Star-Racers Ok, the first time I saw the commercial of Oban Star-Racers on Kids Central's Flux!, I wasn't blown away. In fact, I disliked the graphics - the characters had no noses, for crying out loud! But I decided to give the show a chance anyway. The story was a little boring, and I'm not exactly into sci-fi and fantasy genres, but it got better as the races began and characters like Jordan & Aika (is that how his name is spelt?) were introduced. The ending was somewhat disappointing. I would have expected a tougher battle with the ultimate villain than such a simple way to end it. Jordan's sacrifice was the saddest part. The finale would have been cooler had Eva/Molly or Aika become the Avatar. I mean, Jordan isn't exactly Avatar material, and I actually wanted him to end up with Eva/Molly. Anyway, at least the show's over. :/ Code Lyoko Finally, a cartoon that's very original. This is one of the few cartoons I'...

Operation Overdrive Finale

After watching the last few episodes of Operation Overdrive, I was left unimpressed. I could easily go on for days complaining about all the bad stuff. << Warning: Spoilers >>

Monster Review

Image
Monster is a suspense-filled anime which contains deep and dark themes about unsolved serial murders. After watching several episodes, I've begun to realise that things aren't always the way they seem. At the beginning, Dr. Tenma was portrayed as the hero, but as time passed, the story shifted its focus to other characters. And the more revelations there were, the more I started to wonder if the monster could spread like a disease. I even wondered if the monster was passed on to every one of the characters. In addition, when I first saw the ending theme, I thought that it was a collage of lame drawings of the monster mixed with some horrible music. But as episodes passed, I noticed that the pictures were actually crucial pieces of the story of the monster's past. The music is still horrible, anyway. XD This anime just keeps you guessing and that's what's great about it. My favourite characters so far are Nina (a.k.a. Anna Liebert), Dieter (what a weir...
