Hidden Commentary in Supergirl S2E21 and The Flash S3E20-22

While I do not have any strong inclination towards either ends of the political spectrum, I just found it interesting that the scriptwriters have been doing their best to make the dialogues as witty and relevant as possible, voicing various public opinions regarding unpredictable changes in the current political climate in the US and the world.

Take the following quotes from the current ongoing seasons of these two CW superhero series, for example. Look away if you don't want spoilers.

Supergirl S2E21 - Resist

"Resist. Resist these invaders with everything you've got. They come with empty promises and closed fists. They promise to make our world great again and yet they know nothing about the people that make this world great. They think they can con us and if that doesn't work, what, they're going to beat us into submission? They have no idea what they're up against. Aliens and Humans, we need to band together and we need to stand up and fight back. Everyone needs to be a superhero."

Cat Grant is obviously a democrat, which can be inferred from her remark to the president showing her disdain for the Republicans, "Well, at least tell me you're still a Democrat."

The Flash S3E20-22 - I Know Who You Are / Cause and Effect / Infantino Street

"I was an aberration. A disposable hero."

"What I remember... is being created as a disposable life. Something to be... thrown away when Barry Allen was done with me. He didn't care about me. Why should I care about his love?"

Dang... rejection sucks. I actually feel bad for Savitar. The writers had cleverly slipped in some parallel references to moral and ethical dilemmas related to human cell cloning tests and abortion. Imagine all the discarded human cells (especially reproductive ones) and aborted babies coming back for revenge. Gulp.
