Underground Revelations

<< Warning: Spoilers for G.I. Joe: Renegades episodes 24 & 25, "Going Underground" & "Revelations, Part 1" >> Oh goodness... finally, some Duke/Scarlett/Snake Eyes moments! The Duke/Scarlett moments in "Going Underground" seem pretty blatant, which isn't great, but having a jealous Snake Eyes more than makes up for it. As usual, I think that Snake Eyes/Scarlett > Duke/Scarlett. Why? Because Duke is such a default military guy in army that he's one of the first people I think of whenever someone mentions the military. Boring. But talking about Snake Eyes is a different story. Someone who can't speak in a show really ups the mystery factor. Snake Eyes' got an injury that changed his life permanently and a promise to protect Shana. I really hope the next episode isn't the end. This is not a popular cartoon but it's funny to see people commenting on how boring it is yet still watching it to kill time. Looks lik...

Backfronting

G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 23 "Cousins" Once again, I have made the mistake of backfronting an episode. (Backfronting: the act of doing something backwards forward. I made it up, by the way.) In this case, I accidentally watched part 2 of the episode "Cousins" before part 1, which wasn't a completely bad idea since it became a "put-the-pieces-together-yourself" episode. Pretty cool, actually. Anyway, I think I'm getting tired of the string of character-centric episodes. It feels like the whole team's been split up. But I still go "aww..." every time I see a family reunion scene and the team being invited for a homemade meal. Gotta love the warm fuzzies. P.S. I disagree with the outback dude. There are differences between a gator and a croc . (Someone's gotta be a killjoy, no?) The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Episode "The Man in the Ant Hill" And I ended up watching this re-run, hoping for some Henry/J...

Contagious

End of the Week Rant (Skip this section if you wish) The past week, I had been unintentionally giving people scares with sudden appearances, sudden disappearances, sudden appearance around the corner, sudden appearance of things, etc. It seems my power of invisibility grows stronger each day. To the kid who soils his/her pants, there's no need to be embarrassed (though it's not something to be proud of either.) Crap happens. There's no harm done, unless the stench causes mass puking and simultaneous diarrhoea. Anyway, I had two cool rollercoaster rides last night, in my dreams. I could have gone on two more rides if I hadn't been rudely awakened. The first was a prehistoric ride, the second was a Star Wars ride, and I can't remember the other two. G.I. Joe: Renegades G.I. Joe: Renegades more than made up for the other two rides. It's no kid's show, that's for sure, but it's not too violent to turn off a regular viewer. It's a pity that this...

So much to do

Finally. Now's the time to catch up on everything I've missed for the past weeks. And right after all that happiness, I watch Sym-Bionic Titan episode 20 and find out that that's the last episode. Word has it that it had been  cancelled because it had no tie-in merchandise to profit from. What?! Aurgh, there goes another good series. Please, if you can revive like the great Octus , that would be awesome. ~*~ Moving on, I watched G.I. Joe Renegades episode 18. Great to see some questions from the previous episodes being answered about the fate of the brothers of light. Top-notch work from Snake Eyes and great Tunnel Rat quips, as usual. VIP (upon seeing Tunnel Rat): ... My Mandarin is rusty... Ni hao ma? (incomprehensible Chinglish gibberish) Tunnel Rat: Whoa, what's with the racial? Just because I look Chinese doesn't mean I speak it. Hah, T-Rat, nice one. You remind me of the Karate Kid "Ni hao mao?" plane scene. At least the VIP got that line right...

In cartoons, victims are either tricked or brainwashed

Image
It seems like the theme for the recent weeks of cartoons have been mind games . Why? Because the characters either get tricked into believing something at the very least or brainwashed and mind-controlled at worst. Looks like Young Justice has kicked the storytelling up a notch and the Joes maintain their sarcasm and witty lines, but Ben & Rex still need more plot development. << Warning: Spoilers >> for Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Ep 4 "Big Story", Generator Rex Ep 5 "Robobobo", G.I. Joe Renegades Ep 13 "Brothers of Light" & Young Justice Ep 9 "Bereft"

Renegades

I feel so lazy today, well, yesterday. So lazy, and so guilty. Got caught up with remade childhood cartoons and just couldn't let go. I spent the morning reading about TMNT's unknown straight-to-DVD movie, "Turtles Forever" on a review blog and then the afternoon mashing the past series' theme songs together as a tribute to the turtles. I'm not good with audio editing but I just had to do it or I would lose my inspiration. Just like how I forget about my dreams if I wait too long to write it down. I thought I hadn't dreamt at all last night but it came to me later in the day and that deja vu feeling told me that I had indeed dreamt it. In my dream, I was bolder, doing and saying things I probably would not in real life. The thrill of it coursed through me. Anyway, next up is G.I. Joe: Renegades, the fresh take on the G.I. Joe series.
