I am so glad I got to watch this show. It really puts a spin on Greek myths & legends. The best part are the characters. While most of them are stereotypical, COTT humour + witty one-liners just makes them way better. Anyway, the good thing is that I like most of the characters in COTT. They all contribute in one way or another. Jay's the typical leader type. Theresa's the goody-goody with psychic powers (cue X-men theme). Herry's the brawny yet not-so-bright softie at heart. Archie is the average hero with an Achilles' heel. Atlanta is the athletic and headstrong female. Odie's the typical geek/tech genius. Finally, Neil is the joker. He never ceases to amaze me with the shallowest possible comments. Seriously, he is probably the most self-centred "hero" ever created, which makes him so fun to laugh at. The series started off great with some major changes - no ending theme to channel more time to story development; no 5-word-titles to allow for more creative titles. However, I did notice that the plots seemed to borrow ideas from other seasons: Green rangers are usually portrayed as comic reliefs Sky cowboy Joel, clumsy/naive Trip, weird Bridge, overconfident slacker Xander, & now Ziggy? Wild Force Rangers had powers from the start (Good thing, 'cos it saves time on the introduction. It seems like the plots are getting old. The latest seasons are becoming more like remixes of old seasons. This time, Jungle Fury is a mix of Wild Force & Ninja Storm. The kung-fu school copied the Ninja Academy. How the villain came to be Jarrod also copied Master Org's past. Now, moving on to the characters. Jarrod played the part of a bully really well, though his actions were a little over the top. I mean, why the hell did Master Mao allow his behaviour to carry on for 10 years? Was he that lousy a master? In addition, when Master Mao supposedly "died", he didn't act like he was in pain or anything. In fact, he looked like he was just reading off a script. Lily should not be a Power Ranger since talking/complaining is all she does and her fighting skills are awful. Lily's complaint about her butt not getting up with her was just lame. As you've probably noticed by now, there has been no lack of Spider-man cartoon series for years. I have been able to recall about 4 series so far. So, I decided to make a comparison between the various spin-offs of one of the most popular comics of all time. Aspects \ Title Spider-man (1995) Spider-man Unlimited Spider-man (2003) The Spectacular Spider-man (2008/2009) Plots/Characters A well-developed and complex story line which set the bar high for future Spider-man spin-offs. I loved the exciting Venom & Carnage story arcs. An alternate reality Spider-man with complicated sci-fi plots set in the distant future (think Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward). Interesting alternate timeline characters like Karen & John Jameson (Jameson's son, I presume) were introduced. It's a pity the series was cancelled very early and the story was cut off abruptly. Definitely not for the faint-hearted. It's gory and disturbing, but the story is well-told. After watching this shocking M-18 film supposedly based on the comics, I felt rather disgusted yet disturbed by deep thoughts.

It is an honour to introduce you to "Avatar: The Last Airbender", spanning three seasons (or "books"), and currently in its sequel, "The Legend of Korra". The story takes place in a divided world where people could control specific elements of earth, fire, water and air. However, the fire nation started a war against the other nations in a conquest to take over the world. The people's last hope was the Avatar, the only person who could control all four elements. In each generation, the Avatar is born as a descendent of the next element in the cycle after the previous Avatar passes away as follows. I really like the Humphrey series by Betty G. Birney. It's all about middle school life from a hamster's perspective. I would encourage anyone to read it.

Word of the day: Bunster This word was spontaneously made up by one of my friends while we were having lunch. It was hilarious.
