How to solve a Rubik's cube

This picture is from "You CAN Do the Rubik's Cube"

Quick tips:
  • Start by completing 1 face of the cube, usually the white-coloured ones, thus solving the bottom layer of the cube. It is easier to complete the face by forming a cross before finding the corner pieces.
  • Solve the middle layer
  • Finally, solve the last layer
Follow the notation in the diagram above.

After completing one face of the cube, turn the cube so that it becomes the bottom layer. You should see an inverted "T" pattern.

Forming the 2nd layer
Right -> Ui, Li, U, L, U, F, Ui, Fi
Left -> U, R, Ui, Ri, Ui, Fi, U, F

Top layer cross
F, R, U, Ri, Ui, Fi

Top edges
R, U, Ri, U, R, U, U, Ri

Top corners
U, R, Ui, Li, U, Ri, Ui, Li

Finishing moves (Might need to be done 2 - 4 times)
Ri, Di, R, D
