In cartoons, victims are either tricked or brainwashed

It seems like the theme for the recent weeks of cartoons have been mind games. Why? Because the characters either get tricked into believing something at the very least or brainwashed and mind-controlled at worst. Looks like Young Justice has kicked the storytelling up a notch and the Joes maintain their sarcasm and witty lines, but Ben & Rex still need more plot development.

<< Warning: Spoilers >>
for Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Ep 4 "Big Story", Generator Rex Ep 5 "Robobobo", G.I. Joe Renegades Ep 13 "Brothers of Light" & Young Justice Ep 9 "Bereft"

Credits to MrUjerMiki for the dedicated weekly uploads, from which I got the screen caps.

Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Ep 4 "Big Story"

The plot of this episode is somewhat typical. A wannabe kid reporter discovers a scoop of a lifetime but no one believes him. As usual, I get irked whenever I see a TV show or movie in which no adult ever believes the children who were telling the truth. But thank goodness Ben, Gwen & Kevin decided to check out Jimmy's lead or Jimmy would've kicked their butts and said, "I told you so."

Generator Rex Ep 5 "Robobobo"

And this week's moment of win is brought to you by Bobo, who got Rex serving him on his knees. In comes Dr Holliday and the situation becomes awkward...

Bobo 1, Rex 0.

Everything else would have gone swimmingly if it hadn't been for Rex and his unnecessary meddling, but then there would be no point to this episode.

G.I. Joe Renegades Ep 13 "Brothers of Light"

And Tunnel Rat shines in this episode with his winning lines and sarcasm. I like staying paranoid too, thank you.

The only thing left to wonder about is how Snake Eyes managed to escape the hypnotism. My guess is that. >>>

Young Justice Ep 9 "Bereft"

And Young Justice blasts into this week with a bang. This episode throws you straight into the chaos and confusion, lets you assess the situation from various character perspectives and eventually puts the pieces together. Be prepared for some fluff. Nonetheless, awesome storytelling filled with nostalgic lines that'll take you back to episode 1. Are you whelmed?
