The Legend of Korra Book 2 ~Spirit~ Finale

I can't believe Book 2 is over. As much as I disliked how Book 1 turned out, I am surprised to say that the finale of Book 2 was emotional and breathtaking. Despite not liking how the main characters developed, the links to the past were exceptionally well done and every little cameo made it better. Unfortunately, I still don't like any of the main characters, which is a real pity, because if it had been the Gaang, the overall effect would have been so much more epic. In fact, in two short episodes, Wan impacted me so much more than Korra ever did. Crazy, but true. I'm looking forward to see how Book 3 turns out. With hope, it would be as good, if not better than Book 3 ~Fire~.

Ten Indisputable Signs That You’re a Writer

Ten Indisputable Signs That You’re a Writer I agree with most of the signs. As much as I love writing, I have come to the stage in life when I know there's a difference between fantasy and reality. There will be up sides and down sides in every career. Even the most glamorous job will have its rough patches. I might or might not become a full-fledged writer in the future, but even if I do become one someday, I may eventually discover the difficulties a writer faces with all the finances, editing, promoting, publishing, etc. and may even abandon my dreams because of the challenges. For now, I will make the best out of what I have now. Should I be deemed incapable and be shown the door, I shall set out without regrets and explore a new future that awaits.

Sensitive Issues

For once in a very long time, I thought I might as well make a serious post regarding a couple of issues: Memory loss With age comes this problem. It takes a toll on working adults like me and it is torturous to remember a gazillion usernames and passwords, the names of all the people I work with, important knowledge and facts, etc. On the bright side, people like me tend to be happier and more forgiving because we forget the anger and hurts more easily. As the saying goes, "ignorance is bliss". To the people who harbour revenge and hurts for a long time, let me remind you that it is unhealthy for your mind, especially if you are up against forgetful people, because the only one who suffers from your unforgiveness is you, not the happy person who doesn't even remember what he or she did to anger you. Bottle all that rage up over some time and you're bound to "snap", perhaps even going to extent of breaking the law. Learn to forgive and let go. Move...

Sculptures cut from a single sheet of paper by Peter Callesen

Sculptures cut from a single sheet of paper by Peter Callesen.  : “By taking away all the information and starting from scratch using the white A4 paper sheet for my creations, I feel I have found a material that we are all able to relate to, and at the same time the A4 paper sheet is neutral and open to fill with different meaning. The thin white paper gives the paper sculptures a frailty that underlines the tragic and romantic theme of my works. The paper cut sculptures explore the probable and magical transformation of the flat sheet of paper into figures that expand into the space surrounding them. The negative and absent 2 dimensional space left by the cut, points out the contrast to the 3 dimensional reality it creates, even though the figures still stick to their origin without the possibility of escaping. In that sense there is also an aspect of something tragic in many of the cuts.” “By taking away all the information and starting from scratch using the w...

Do you remember that time...?

Image
unsuccessful-metalbenders : Guys, hey, guys. Do you remember that time that Coulson called Natasha and she ended up forming the Avengers?  Remember how she did that by digging up Bruce Banner and introducing Steve to him then was the voice of reason when Tony and Steve were bickering and then how she brought Clint back from being mind controlled so that they can be a team? Remember that? Remember how the Black Widow out smarted a god? Remember that time she kept her shit together when the Hulk attacked her, even though she was really scared? Remember when she knocked an alien off his flying scooter and figured out how to drive it despite it being extrateresstrial tech, then got her ass up to the top of Stark Tower, found Loki’s staff and saved the world from being invaded by turning off the tesseract?   Remember how she was the central character of the whole freaking movie?
